Northern Chile- tour to the desert
After 10 AWESOME (adjective means much more than the amis use it) days, we arrived safetly in SANTIAGO.
Actually, it¨s impossible to re-tell all the fantastic days we spend in the north of Chile.
Summarizing, we have never seen such a beauty and have never felt this freedom atmosphere before!
We didn¨t know that such places even exist on the world.
Amazing landscape which changed from green vineyards to rocky and stoney desert into finally the Atacama salt desert which was accompanied by the phenomenal snow covered Andes and active volcanoes.
Highlights:
- Wildlife tour by boat in the Humbold national park to see dolphins, sealions, pinguines, pelicans, ...
- Salt desert: sunset over the salt lakes. Unbelievable change of colours from yellow to red, to pink, purple and blue. In front the pink flamingos relaxing and enjozing life like us :)
- Sand boarding and mountain biking in the death valley(Atacama): An exhausting but funny experience. Not similar to snowboarding!!! Hard work! No lift!!!
- San Pedro de Atacama: Village in the desert on 2500m over the sealevel. Adobe houses with NO HEATING (like everywhere else- fucking freezing at night!). Even the water was freezing in the pipes during the night: -7ºC. Water is short. No hot shower!
Moonvalley:
- Staying at a beach house 20 meters away from the sea in a national park. Amazing sunrise!
- Horseback riding like cowboys in the Elqui Valley, a hippie place surrounded by vineyards and mountains.
- Cactus: everwhere. hundred of years old and hundreds of centimenters high.
We did the tour by a backpackers organisations with a perfect group of Scotts, Irish, Uks, Amis and Kiwis and a helpful and crazy Chileanen tourguide. Very, very funny! We recommend this tour 100% when visiting Roland (who arrives in some hours) in this fantastic country!
Big hug to everyone at home!
Te quierro!
Have fun and enjoy our video;)
